Welcome to the world of Model United Nations (MUN)!
Welcome, or welcome back, to the world of Model United Nations (MUN), where we are helping students become global citizens without leaving home!

During this five-day training conference, students will represent delegates in the United Nations Third Committee: Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM). SOCHUM is one of the six main UN committees; their work focuses on the wide range of humanitarian and social matters, including topics like human rights and basic freedoms, the advancement of women, protection of children, treatment of refugees and more. This year, our delegates will learn about issues like aging populations and immigration during our training conference.
Students will:
- Hone their research skills as they explore the position of their assigned country
- Write and present an opening speech
- Debate the issues
- Work cooperatively to draft and pass resolutions
