November 3, 2020 The last few weeks have brought significant increases in the average number of cases per 100,000 people for our area. It is critical that we continue to follow the CDC guidelines to reduce the spread.
The Big One is my favorite CS philosophy. It states to treat yourself, others and your environment with care. I think it is so important because we often forget to take care of ourselves and I love being able to spend time focusing on this component of Social Emotional Learning with my students. I also love how involved the school is with the community and helping others.
October 27, 2020 As the weather becomes cooler and the cars are warmer, the temperature readings for students have become less accurate. Beginning on November 2, we will add a third question to the morning survey which will ask you to record the temperature for your child.
By nature I am somebody who tends to color inside the lines, but Community School taught me to go beyond my comfort zone and become comfortable with thinking outside the box. In a more concrete sense, the focus at Community School on critical thinking and the humanities has made me both a better scientist and a better writer. Community School also helped me to be a more well-rounded person, which is important both on a personal level and in my interactions with patients.
October 10, 2020 Recently we were asked why we are not sharing more information about cases at Community School. Thankfully, so far, we have not had any students or staff with a positive diagnosis.
